Abstract
There are a number of conditions from which a person is suffering from. One among these conditions is Grierson Gopalan Syndrome. It is also known as burning feet syndrome. The condition causes much discomfort as the feeling of hotness or burning and pain occur in the bilateral feet. The condition gets worse at night. And There is some relief during the day hours. The burning is usually limited to the sole of feet but can occur also on the top side. Introduction
Grierson-Gopalan Syndrome is also known as Burning feet syndrome. It is a medical condition in which a person experiences severe burning sensation and pain in the feet. The condition is also associated with hyperesthesia. And the other thing associated with Grierson-Gopalan Syndrome is excessive sweating due to vasomotor changes of the feet. In Ayurveda, the condition can be correlated with pitta dosha and vata dosha vitiation. As the burning sensation is a feature of pitta and hyperesthesia is a feature of vata dosha. Therefore, in Grierson-Gopalan Syndrome, the pitta and vata dosha should be pacified in order to manage the condition.

Symptoms Of Grierson-Gopalan Syndrome
- Burning sensation is usually limited to the sole but can also be felt up to the ankles.
- Sometimes feeling of pins and needles or tingling sensation may occur along with burning
- Worsening of the heat sensation in night hours
- Sometimes psychological symptoms may also arise in patients with psychosomatic disorders.
- Sometimes the eyes can also get affected causing symptoms such as amblyopia and scotoma.
- Numbness in the feet and legs
Diagnosis Of Grierson-Gopalan Syndrome
It is usually clinical depending on the history of the patients such as burning sensation in the soles, ankle and lower legs sometimes. Sweating, and tingling sensation are also considered in diagnosis.
