Abstract

Cheyletiellosis is a rare but highly contagious condition spreaded by parasites. This is a condition that affects cats, dogs, rabbits and humans. Causes of Cheyletiellosis

  1. Cheyletiellosis occurs due to the parasite named ‘Cheyletiella yasguri’ as this species attacks dogs.

  1. Cardinal features of cheyletiellosis are dandruff and scaling.
  2. Itching or pruritus also occurs.

  1. Diagnosis is based on the medical history, observation of the mite and clinical signs of itching skin.
  2. The mite can be seen under a microscope set on low power magnification.
