AYURVEDIC ASPECT
Skin affects all ages from neonates to elderly people causing harm in many ways. It includes the 4 D’s which are Discomfort, Disability, Disfigurement and Disability. In Ayurveda, skin disorders occur due to imbalances of doshas and dhatus in the body. Two main causes of this disease are incompatible diet and incompatible lifestyle. They come under the Kushta Rogas mainly Charma kushtha due to aggravation of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha doshas which further vitiates skin and blood circulation and affects the moisture level of the tissues which makes skin discolored, rough and thick. Kushta is described in Ayurvedic classics- Mahakushta (major ailments-7 types) and Kshudrakushta (minor skin ailments- 11 types).
Twacha Shareera: Twacha Shareera describes the formation of Twacha in the fetus, which shows fertilization of the fetus develops on the surface of boiled milk. Twacha is the Matruja Bhava and is formed due to the Paka of Rakta dhatu by Dhatwagni in the fetus.
- Pitta- Bhrajaka pitta
- Dosha Predominance- Vata and Kapha doshas
PATHOGENESIS
The vitiated doshas further vitiate the Twak (skin or Rasa dhatus), Rakta (blood) and Mamsa (Muscle Tissue), Ambu (Lymph) which are the pathogenic substances of Kustha.
