Abstract

Introduction

Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO) / Devic’s Disease is an autoimmune disorder, which is mainly affecting (CNS) and particularly optic nerves and spinal cord. Due to its effect it is also known as NMOSD (spectrum disorder) . People who are suffering with any of the above mentioned autoimmune disorders are at higher risk of developing devic’s disease.

Ayurvedic Correlation – Vataja Timira

Timira is caused by accumulation and vitiation of dosa in different patalas or layers of eyes. Its further stage is kacha and if not treated can become incurable and causes total vision loss which is called linganasha.
