Alternative Treatment of Discoid lupus ( Autoimmune skin disease )
Abstract
Autoimmune skin disease is a disorder where the immune cells present in the skin start to attack themselves instead of protecting it. Healthy skin will form a scar after the skin becomes damaged or is injured while in the case of auto-immune skin disease, the immune system of the body mistakenly attacks the healthy skin tissue. This results in the formation of inflamed, red, and coin-like patches on the skin which is better known as Discoid lupus. Many people do not know about this autoimmune skin disorder which causes a dangerous effect on the skin. So, through the help of this article, we are going to discuss Discoid lupus in detail, its effect, and how you can manage it through herbal medicine.
What Is Discoid Lupus?
It is better known as Discoid lupus erythematosus which is a Chronic auto-immune disorder that mainly affects the skin and forms a coin-shaped lesion on the surface of the skin from where it has got the name Discoid lupus. This condition is responsible for forming severe rashes mainly on the scalp, ears, and cheeks due to exposure to the sun. As the scalp is involved hair loss is very commonly seen in this disease and these lesions are responsible for forming severe scarring on the skin. These scars can last for almost years or more than that.
Discoid lupus and systemic lupus are different and they should not be confused with each other. Systemic lupus can form mild rashes on the face and it is also responsible for affecting the internal organs. There are chances that patients with systemic lupus can develop discoid lupus whereas discoid lupus does not cause-effect on the internal organs. They are only responsible for forming rashes.
