Abstract
Adenoma malignum of uterine cervix also referred as minimal deviation adenocarcinoma is a rare variant of cervical mucinous adenocarcinoma. Its occurrence rate is about 1-3% of all cervical adenocarcinomas. It usually presents in the middle age of women, mostly around 40-42 years of age. Adenoma Malignum is often correlated with Peutz-Jeghers syndrome and mucinous tumours of the ovary. The typical symptom of this disease is watery vaginal discharge. In this above article we are going to discuss its causes, symptoms and treatment with an Ayurvedic point of view.
Introduction
Adenoma malignum of uterine cervix is a rare variant of well- differentiated carcinoma. An adenoma is a tumour of epithelial tissue with or without glandular characteristics. Adenomas are multiple irregular lobulations of twisted glands; its characteristics mimic multiple nabothian cysts as a lobulated growth. Major symptoms are secretion of the tumour which are seen as abnormal vaginal discharge and vaginal bleeding. In modern medication the primary and main method of treatment for adenoma malignum is surgery. In this article we will discuss its clinicopathological aspects and treatment aspect from an Ayurvedic point of view.
Histopathology
Adenoma is a tumour of glandular tissue originating from the mucosa of uterus, small intestine or colon, in which tumour cells start to grow, these adenomas may be pedunculated or sessile too. The adenomatous proliferation is distinguished by different degrees of cell dysplasia (loss of normal epithelium). These are characterised by irregular cells with hyperchromatic nuclei, pseudostratified nuclei and mitosis, these structures may be tubular, villous or tubullo-villous. Multiple irregular lobulation of distorted glands demonstrating tubullo-villous shape that may be considered as a characteristic pathological feature. Size and shape of irregular glands and lined predominantly by mucin containing columnar epithelial cells with basal nuclei.

- Menometrorrhagia
- Abnormal vaginal discharge
- Vaginal bleeding
- Postmenopausal bleeding
- Abnormal abdominal swelling.

Treatment
Prognosis of this disease is poor and is unfavourable due to dissemination into the peritoneal cavity. In early stages of disease radiation and chemotherapy is advised but they also don’t show any effective result.

1. KANCHNAAR GUGGUL
This is a poly herbal tablet formulation prepared by planet Ayurveda consisting of Kachnar bark (Bauhinia variegata), Amalaki (Emblica officinalis) etc. This formulation is used to treat adenomatous growths, relieving menstrual irregularities. It basically pacifies Kapha and Pitta dosha, and is anti-inflammatory in nature.
Dosage: 1-2 tablets twice or thrice daily with lukewarm water
2. CURCUMIN CAPSULES
This is a single herbal capsule formulation given by Planet Ayurveda consisting of haridra (Curcuma longa).
