Etiology/Causes
The exact cause of this disease is not known. It may be associated with an abnormal immune response of the immune system. Our own immune system mistakenly attacks the healthy cells of the body and causes diseases. But researchers propose this theory also that gender and genetic factors may be involved in this condition.
- Gender: This disease is more common in women than in men. Sarcoidosis occurs mostly in the age group between 20 and 40 years of age.
- Genetic: Family history might have a role in causing sarcoidosis disease. Thus a person is at higher risk that has a family history of sarcoidosis.
Clinical Features/Signs And Symptoms
Initially some patients have no symptoms with sarcoidosis. Generally the symptoms of this disease vary depending on the affected organ. So the common complaints of the patients who are suffering from this disease are:
