Abstract

DISH disease is a disorder of the skeletal system that starts with mineral salt deposition around various joints of the body. The affected bones also grow out of shape and size and this growth is seen as malignant. The affected joints and surrounding muscles become extremely painful for the affected person and he may even be partially disabled from DISH. The modern treatment offers only painkillers and sugary medicine which is obviously not done until the condition has worsened far beyond control. Diagnosis and Complications

The physical examination of the painful joints is done first of all. Scanning and imaging procedures such as x-rays, CT and MRI scans can be carried out. If left undiagnosed or untreated, DISH can cause the flowing complications

  • The affected joints can be completely immovable.
  • The person may lose coordination if the spine is affected.
  • Fracture and brittle bones can occur.
