If constipation is not treated properly, it can cause hemorrhoids, reduced nutrient absorption, bowel obstruction, colitis and hernia etc. The main causes of constipation are lack of dietary fiber, dehydration, hormonal changes, vitamin deficiencies, drug side effects and diseases. Most people in their lives experience constipation due to wrong eating habits and sedentary lifestyle. When a person is dealing with constipation, the colon are required to develop high pressure on intestines. 1. Papaya

The papaya fruit is slightly sweet having musky smell. Papaya are a good source of fiber. Its fiber helps to get relief from constipation. The person who are experiencing constipation are at higher risk of colon cancer. So consume papaya as it is rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, folate and beta-carotene.

How to Consume

  1. Take papaya as a fruit.
  2. Drink papaya milk as it is good for constipation.

2. Figs

Figs

Dried figs contain small amount of sugar, minerals, vitamins, fiber and antioxidant. It contain vitamin B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B9 which help our digestive system to absorb other nutrients from body. Figs contain soluble and insoluble fiber that prevent constipation because it make stool soft that pass easily through intestines.

How to Consume

  1. Soak three to four figs overnight and consume it early morning.

3. Carrot

Carrot

High fiber vegetables such as carrots help to cure constipation. It contain various minerals and vitamin B, C, D, E, K, carotene, potassium and Sodium that help to clean out colon and speed up fecal matter movements. Carrot will help you to feel better.

How to Consume

  1. Take carrots in salad form.
  2. Prepare a juice from carrots and celery. It is beneficial for the stomach.
  3. While making carrot juice add a small amount of garlic, radish and onion. Add a small bunch of spinach. Drink half to one cup in the morning.

4. Triphala

Triphala

It is a combined form of amla, harad and bahera. This combination has unique property of colon cleansing. The purpose of this churna is cleansing colon and gastrointestinal related problems. Presence of vitamin C, linoleic oil and other nutritional properties promotes proper digestion. It have laxative property which help in loosening and relaxing bowel movements and relieve constipation. Triphala churna quickly improve appetite and is easily absorbable in digestion. 5. Water

When you drink lots of water, your body becomes properly hydrated. Less water will be withdrawn from the colon that will keep stool soft and easy to pass. Water is very important for digestion. It help to move your food to intestines, keep intestines flexible and smooth. If a person do not drink plenty of water, then he/she suffer from chronic constipation problem. This chronic constipation can cause various gastrointestinal problems and irritable bowel syndrome like problems. Inadequate water in daily diet is the main reason for constipation.

  1. A healthy person should consume eight glass of water per day. Minimum one to two liters daily.
