- Relax and close your mouth
- Close your lips and place the teeth of the lower jaw behind the teeth of the upper jaw.
- Lift and flatten your tongue to the roof
- Press it against the roof of your mouth and the tip of the tongue is moved behind your teeth without touching to the back.
- Do it for a few minutes, then relax and repeat.

According to ayurveda, The Mewing technique is related to khechari mudra. Khechari mudra has been mentioned in ayurvedic classics such as yoga Pradipika, pranayama, etc. It is a mudra of a yoga sadhana, mainly Hatha yoga. This mudra is considered as king of all the mudra’s. This mudra can be done by both men and women. In this mudra Chit (mind) and Jihva (Tongue) both are concentrated towards akasha.

- Breathe deeply and slowly like Ujjayi pranayama
- Hold it as long as possible.
