Abstract
Equine Influenza is a viral disease that is highly contagious and can easily transmit from one host to another. This viral disease can affect humans and animals too. Horses of one to five years of age are more suspected to easily get this disease. There have occurred many outbreaks of this viral infection worldwide that caused equine illness at high levels. In this article, we will discuss the causative agent and the symptoms seen in the horse with influenza. Introduction
Equine Influenza is a viral respiratory disease that is highly contagious due to transmission through respiratory secretions. The impact of the disease can be mild to moderate to severe. The impact of the virus depends on the immunity levels of a particular horse. The virus can show normal flu-like symptoms to severe symptoms. The virus in some horses causes the destruction of throat and lung cells that are needed by the body. Their regeneration takes a minimum time of two to three weeks.
